Ever had your ID stolen?

If not, let me be the first to assure you…it sucks. Lots of people have had it way worse than I did, I was really lucky…I would honestly go so far as to say blessed when reading the stories other identity theft victims have dealt with. Look at me now…helpin others save money and protect their identities. :D

It doesn’t help that banks and other financial institutions don’t really care about their customers enough when something does happen, or that police and federal departments are so understaffed (especially now!) they can’t put manpower on non-violent crimes, or that the three credit bureaus don’t give a hoot about typos. This isn’t a dis on the employees of any of these institutions…remember that when you’re talking to a bank or credit bureau employee, they’re underpaid and overworked…and ask yourself how you would respond if you had to deal with some unhappy angry emotional person in the course of your your job if it were the same scenario (and maybe you are underpaid and overworked).

Oh right, that’s why you’re reading this…because you wanna know how to prevent identity theft! :P There are tons of services, watching your credit reports is so important I can’t even begin to describe it. ProtectMyID kicks ya down a few other tools though:
