You might be asking yourself, “Why go custom? Isn’t that really expensive?”…or, if you’re like me, you’re thinking “Ugh! I don’t wanna think about window coverings…I’ll just go buy some at the local hardware store and put ‘em up myself…” If you’re like me…you’ve been there…and you know that’s a mistake! It really doesn’t get easier next time…believe me, I know. I’m sure there are some of you out there that know what you’re doing, but there are a ton more people out there (like me) that probably shouldn’t be allowed to own power tools…much less work around glass.

I’m certainly no stranger to trying to figure this out myself. I learned the hard way that’s a bad idea. On the one hand, you’re gonna pay a little more for customized coverings (but you’ll know exactly how much it will cost without spending a penny because you knew to come to me first. ) You know I’ve got your back when it comes to saving money…and this is no different. In the long run, proper window coverings (man I hate that phrase! lol) will save you both time (and really, you can’t discount the value of spending time with your kids, reading a book, something not involving complex processes better handled by professionals) and money. Improperly fitted wc’s (yeah, I know that’s an international phrase for “water closet”…but that’s usually capitalized as “WC”…and we already covered how much I don’t like the phrase “window coverings”—and I don’t know what kind of coverings you might be using or want in your house—so saying “blinds” isn’t really right, either…*whew*) can cost you extra money in the long run. After all…windows, are, by definition, transparent…meaning they let sunlight (and heat!) in…some of you know how bad that gets in the summer (or compare a car with the windows up in the summer…did you know it can get to be over 180° F—approx. 82° C—in a hot car?).
